Verkazia Information:

Verkazia (Cyclosporine) is an ophthalmic medication used to increase tear production in people with inflammatory dry eye conditions such as Keratoconjunctivitis sicca, which causes ocular inflammation. Verkazia is in a class of medications called immunomodulators. Tear production is thought to be decreased when lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell, die and accumulate in the tear glands. Verkazia blocks your immune functions in the area, reversing this condition and increasing tear production. Symptoms of Keratoconjunctivitis sicca and other inflammatory dry eye conditions include redness, swollen eyelids, watering, discharge, stickiness, dryness, light sensitivity, burning, or itchiness. Your doctor will discuss the most effective treatment for your symptoms.
