Albenza Information:
Albenza is an anthelmintic medication, or anti-worm medication, which prevents newly hatched insect larvae from growing and multiplying inside your body. Albenza can be used to treat certain infections caused by worms such as pork tapeworm and dog tapeworm. It can also be used to treat cystic hydatid disease of the liver, lung, and peritoneum, which is caused by dog tapeworms. Albenza works by stopping the worm from absorbing sugar (glucose), which causes the worms to lose energy and eventually die. Symptoms of having a tapeworm include nausea, weakness, loss of appetite, abdominal pain, diarrhea, dizziness, salt cravings, and weight loss. Your doctor will decide on the best treatment for your condition.
