Oralair (Grass Pollen Allergen Extract) is used to treat allergic reactions to certain grass pollen such as cocksfoot, rye grass, sweet vernal grass, timothy, and meadow grass. Oralair belongs to a group of medications called allergy immunotherapies. Oralair Side Effects:

Possible side effects of Oralair include runny nose, stuffy nose, watery eyes, wheezing, difficulty breathing, cough, diarrhea, dizziness, dry mouth, ear or eye itchiness, headache, heartburn, mouth tingling, nausea, swollen tongue, throat irritation, and tiredness. These side effects may occur within the first few days of treatment but usually resolves spontaneously. Inform your doctor immediately if these side effects last or worsen.

Also, read the leaflet in the pack for more information about its use. It is recommended to start taking this medication 4 months before the pollen season. It is important to take your first dose under the supervision of your doctor for at least 30 minutes to ensure you don't have a hypersensitivity reaction to the drug. To use this medication, take the tablet out of the pack and place it under your tongue. Keep it under your tongue for 2 minutes without swallowing for it to dissolve. Also, avoid eating or drinking for 5 minutes after taking each tablet. Wash your hands after using this medication. Do not miss any dose; if you do, take it as soon as possible unless it is time for the next dose, in which case you have to skip the missed dose. Do not take more than the prescribed dose to make up for a missed dose. Store this medication at room temperature and keep it away from sunlight and moisture and out of children's reach.

Oralair Precautions:

Before using Oralair, it is highly important to inform your doctor about any previous or current medical conditions you may have, especially the following:
• Allergic reaction to ingredients of Oralair or any other medications;
• Cancer;
• Heart disease;
• High blood pressure;
• Inflammatory conditions of the mouth, such as mouth ulcers and bleeding gums;
• Inflammatory of the esophagus, such as eosinophilic esophagitis;
• Lung diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases;
• Weak immune system.

It is important to inform your doctor about this medication if you are having oral surgery or having your tooth removed. This medication has to be stopped for at least 7 days to allow healing of the oral cavity after surgery. After the surgery, ask your doctor how to begin this medication again. Do not use this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding without consulting your doctor first. The use of this medication is not recommended in children less than 5 years of age or in adults older than 65 years. Some drugs can interact with Oralair and potentiate its side effects in the body.
