Selzentry (Maraviroc) is an oral tablet and is a type of anti-HIV drug called a CCR5 antagonist used for the treatment of HIV-1 (Human Immunodeficiency Virus type 1) infection in adults. Selzentry Side Effects:

Selzentry Directions:

Selzentry should be taken every day as prescribed in combination with other medicines used to treat HIV. A dose adjustment may be needed due to the potential for interactions with other medicinal products. Further adjustment may be necessary if you also have kidney problems. Selzentry can be taken with or without food. Selzentry comes in a tablet form and should be swallowed with plenty of liquid (e.g. water). Do not split, crush or chew the tablets. Selzentry Precautions:

Do not use Selzentry ointment if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Maraviroc or any of the other ingredients of Selzentry. During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Treatment can lower the risk of passing HIV infection to your baby, and Maraviroc may be part of that treatment. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. You should not breastfeed if you are HIV-positive because of the chance of passing HIV to your baby. Talk with your doctor about the best way to feed your baby. Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Do not start or stop any other medications without your doctor or pharmacist’s approval. The medications that are known to interact or may interact with Selzentry and your doctor may adjust the dosage of Selzentry include clarithromycin, ketoconazole, itraconazole, rifampin; delavirdine; atazanavir, atazanavir/ritonavir, darunavir/ritonavir, and other anti-HIV combinations; anticonvulsant medicines (carbamazepine); St. John's Wort should not be used as it may reduce the amount of Selzentry in the blood and reduce the effectiveness of this medication.
