Tasigna (Nilotinib) is a prescription medication used to treat a type of blood cancer called Philadelphia chromosome positive chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (CML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in adults and children who are at least 1 year old. Tasigna is typically given after other medications have been tried without success. Tasigna belongs to a class of medications called tyrosine kinase inhibitors and works by inhibiting the actions of proteins called tyrosine kinase proteins, which in turn prevents cancerous white blood cells from growing and dividing.
