Azulfidine Information:

Buy Azulfidine

Azulfidine (Sulfasalazine) is medication used to treat ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), Crohn’s Disease, rheumatoid arthritis, and other inflammatory types of arthritis. Sulfasalazine is in a class of medications called anti-inflammatory drugs. It works by reducing inflammation (swelling) inside the body. Sulfasalazine acts locally in the colon to decrease inflammation. It also works throughout the body by inhibiting the formation of a chemical known as prostaglandins. Prostaglandins have several important functions in the body, one of which is control of pain and inflammation. Azulfidine is not a cure for ulcerative colitis, but it can help reduce flare-ups. Sulfasalazine delayed-release (Azulfidine EN-tabs) is also used to treat rheumatoid arthritis in adults and children whose disease has not responded well to other medications. Sulfasalazine (Azulfidine) is considered a disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug (DMARD). It can decrease the pain and swelling of arthritis, prevent joint damage, and reduce the risk of long-term disability. Azulfidine is not a cure for rheumatoid arthritis.

Swallow the tablet whole and do not crush, chew, or break it. You will need frequent medical tests. Drink plenty of liquids to keep your kidneys working properly while you are taking Azulfidine. Azulfidine can affect the results of certain medical tests. Tell any doctor who treats you that you are using this medicine. If you are treating arthritis, do not stop using any of your other arthritis medicines until your doctor tells you to.
