Relpax Information:
Relpax (generic name: Eletriptan HBr) is a drug which is prescribed for the treatment of migraines. It works by narrowing the blood vessels in the brain, which in turn reduces pain. It also reduces substances in the body that cause other migraine symptoms including light sensitivity and nausea. Migraines are thought by most experts to be caused by the swelling of blood vessels in the brain. Over 28 million people are affected by migraines in the US. Relpax only works on a migraine that has already begun and cannot prevent future migraines. Relpax is not intended for common headaches. Relpax starts working in just 30 minutes in some patients for even the most severe migraines, and most patients will have symptom relief within 2 hours.
