Mevacor (generic name: Lovastatin) is a drug which is prescribed for the treatment of high cholesterol. Lovastatin is used to lower the risk of stroke, heart attack, and other heart complications in people with diabetes, coronary heart disease, or other risk factors. More serious side effects may include unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness of muscles, fever, unusual fatigue, dark urine, chest pain, swelling, weight gain, urinating less than usual, severe nausea, upper stomach pain, loss of appetite and jaundice. Mevacor Directions:
